Jägermeister was created in 1934 by Curt Mast in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. Mast came from a family involved in vinegar production and had a strong interest in developing spirits.
The name Jägermeister translates roughly as "Master Hunter", reflecting Curt Mast's passion for hunting. The brand's famous stag-and-cross logo is inspired by the legend of Saint Hubertus, the patron saint of hunters, and Saint Eustace, both associated with a vision of a glowing cross between the antlers of a stag.
The recipe is made from 56 different botanicals, although the exact proportions remain a closely guarded secret. The ingredients are carefully extracted and blended before the spirit undergoes a maturation process that helps bring the flavours together.
Jägermeister was originally marketed as a digestif and traditionally served after meals. Over time, its popularity transformed it into one of the world's best-known herbal liqueurs, particularly through its association with ice-cold shots and modern cocktail culture.
An aromatic combination of herbs, citrus and warming spices introduces a rich and complex palate, where sweet botanical flavours meet a distinctive bitter edge. Notes of liquorice, anise, orange peel and dried herbs mingle with hints of ginger, cinnamon and subtle earthy roots, creating considerable depth beneath the sweetness. The texture is smooth and warming, developing into a long finish of bitter herbs, citrus, spice and gentle sweetness.

We treat all personalised bottles individually, taking our time and experience to set out your message to create the most impactful bottle decoration possible. This may include increase the size of some fonts within the message to pay particular focus on key lines or phrases, spacing message over extra lines and removing unnecessary punctuation.
Yes, all the lines of messages will be centred.
If you can type it, we can engrave it! When using alternative languages it may be neccessary for us to alter the font to ensure all characters are supported, in these cases we use the closest style font to your original selection.
Unfortunatley we are unable to engrave emoji's or picture characters. Where these are added the character will be removed from your message.
We specially select the fonts we use. Once a bottle has been engraved the cut glass is then infilled with a special decorative silver paste. These fonts ensure we provide the optimum width and depth during the engraving process to creat maximum visibility once infilled.
The fonts we currently use are: Lucida Calligraphy, Lucida Handwriting, Verdana and Segoe Print.
